Toshiba Portégé R700 13-inch ultra-portable laptop announced

Toshiba introduced the new Portégé R700 ultra-portable, which the company also claims that it was the “world’s lightest” 13.3-inch full-performance laptop with an integrated DVD drive. It’s also has durable magnesium alloy casing reinforced with a new honeycomb rib design incorporated within the palm rests and base of the laptop.
The Portégé R700 has a starting weight of just three pounds and about one inch thin, and includes a new Airflow Cooling Technology, which is the innovative new cooling system co-developed by Toshiba and Intel that uses directed air streams to cool heat-generating components.
The Portégé R700s will be available with Intel Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 processors and Windows 7 Professional, 13.3-inch diagonal HD widescreen LED-backlit display, 4 MB of RAM, a choice of a 320/500GB hard drive or a 128GB SSD, an ExpressCard slot, an eSATA/USB combo port, as well as an integrated DVD±RW drive and webcam. The R700 will ship with a six-cell battery that should give up to 8.5 hours of run time.
The Portégé R700 series is available now and pricing ranges from $999 to $1,599.
