Nvidia new ION chipset for Netbooks

Now, NVIDIA has officially launched the platform of new ION chipset are on display at CeBIT. The new ION chipset is now manufactured using a more advanced 40 nm process technology while the old ION was at 65 nm. And supports Nvidia’s Optimus technology, which automatically switches between the Intel integrated graphics and ION depending on the workload to preserve battery life. Nvidia claims ION-powered netbooks will have about 10 hours of battery life.
The new ION chipset found in netbooks such as the Acer Aspire 532G and Asus Eee PC 1201PN.
The Notebook Italia web site have had a chance to run a benchmark on the Asus Eee PC 1201PN. This machine features the new 16-core version of the next-generation ION chip.
